Your first visit/check-up appointment
If you are a new patient at the practice you may find the following
helpful.
When you first enter the practice the receptionist will ask you to fill
in a medical history form so that the dentist is aware of any medical
problems that may influence your care. Please be assured that all our
staff are trained in importance of confidentiality so your information
is in safe hands. We also ask our patients to fill out a 'Smile Check'
form. It only takes a minute to fill in and helps the dentist help you
to achieve the smile you have always wanted.
You will then be asked to take a seat in our patient lounge where you
can relax with many popular magazines and a flat screen television is
available. The dentist will invite you into the surgery and check both
the health of your mouth and your teeth, including any false teeth you
may have. The dentist may request that you have some small x-rays taken
of your mouth - these do not hurt and can be done at the same appointment.
You will be encouraged to discuss with the dentist any concerns or queries
you may have with your treatment. We will then aim to plan a comprehensive
and individual care plan for you, with a clear indication of costs for
any proposed treatment. Further appointments can then be made at your
own convenience.
