Dental implants
Dental implants are used for the replacement of missing teeth. They can
be used in several ways to support crowns, bridge or dentures.
Dental implants are shaped like a screw and set permanently into the
bone of your jaw to act as an anchor upon which new teeth are constructed.
They are made from sterile titanium, which is compatible with human
bone. The main advantage of implants are that they are permanently fixed
to the jaw. This can be of great benefit to people who struggle with
removable dentures.
Another advantage of single tooth implants, for example, is that no
work is required on other natural teeth. We are fortunate at the practice
to have a dentist, Mr Guest, who is trained in implantology. Should
you be interested in this treatment he will be pleased to discuss the
options available to you.
